Miss Sixty is calling my name!

I am becoming new and improved.

So I am about three weeks into my Body By Vi Challenge and I’m still enjoying my shakes. I thought I would get sick of them, but you just have to let yourself fall into the groove of taking them.

I have also discovered that Jillian Michaels is the devil’s minion! At least I thought she was last week after a session of her workout DVD.

I had a slight hiccup over Labor day weekend but I am back on track and totally focused. Come on, it was Labor Day! The important thing is that I didn’t let it throw my improved habits completely off.

You see, I have this pair of Miss Sixty jeans that are calling my name! I haven’t had my official weigh in yet but nothing wrong with waiting until day 30 for that, right?!

22 days and counting …..

I have been on The Challenge for 22 days now! Wow, time flies. I am going to weigh myself at the gym this evening and see what the scale has been up to.

 In the meantime, I have been working toward my lifestyle change. I have been trying to incorporate more steps into my day and snacks. Hard to believe it, but I am not a snacker. So sometimes it can be difficult to force myself to eat a banana mid-day. However, I’ve been doing it. This is ensuring that later I am not overeating at dinner. There are rules of etiquette to follow when working out at the gym. Today Mr. Fitness shares 10 tips for a safe workout.

Always re-rack your weights properly.

Do

1)      Do train with light clothing.

2)      Do drink plenty of water throughout your workout.

3)      Do inhale during the negative and exhale during the positive.

4)      Do sanitize the equipment after your set.

5)      Do re-rack your weights properly.

This summer I got some away, and exercise, time in Maine. Now I am making sure I add exercise to my daily routine.

Since I have been taking my Body by Vi shakes and matching them with regular exercise, I am feeling AMAZING. My energy level is through the roof and I have been sleeping better than ever.

This morning I actually managed to get to the gym at 6:15 a.m. Have I ever gone to the gym at this time of the morning before? Yes. The difference is that normally I struggle to get out of bed. After a night usually filled with tossing and turning, I debate whether I should leave the comfort of my warm bed to escape into the cool morning. However, today there was no grogginess or discontent. I have been sleeping like a baby and feel rejuvenated when I rise. View full article »

I am playing for Team Transformers!

Today I am relaxing after an hour-long hike in Amherst at The Notch. I am aiming to build myself up to re-hike the Seven Sisters in late October. There is something I really enjoy about walking the trails in the woods. It’s amazing to be with a group of girlfriends in nature hearing the brooks and trees around you.

I am also using these 90 days to reshape my eating habits. It’s not an easy feat, but I am working on it. I’ve been opting to make turkey burgers instead of beef, making oven-fried chicken without the grease and munching on tomato basil hummus and whole wheat pita bread rather than a sodium-filled snack. My Body by Vi shakes arrived the day before yesterday and I had my first one for dinner. I got the sweet cream flavor with a little silk soy milk and I must say it was delicious. I stayed full too. Today I’m going to mix in some fruit and see how I like it. This is going to be even easier than I thought and I’m working out with my Sean (of the Hip Hop abs fame) and Billy (Blanks of Tae Bo)  videos this week and starting the gym next week. Team Thunder Cats – hooooooooo!

The mini Challenge has begun!

The prelude to The Challenge kicked-off yesterday at Anytime Fitness in Westfield,Mass. Aiesha Eastling, of Bloomfield,Conn., and Natasha Clark of Springfield, Mass., weighed in and officially started a mini-version of The Challenge, a Biggest Loser-style contest. Contestants will have 90-Days to transform their bodies through ViSalus Sciences’ Body by Vi shakes. Clark and Eastling will be weighed in every two weeks until the winner is announced on November 17, 2011. View full article »

Meet Aiesha Eastling. This nurse and mother of four is joining the Body By Vi 90-Day Fitness and Weightloss Challenge hosted by Marcus Made Me Fit.

Aiesha’s weight has fluctuated throughout the years. She’s no stranger to exercise and though she has been able to lose weight, maintaining the loss has been difficult. However, joining the Challenge will allow her to develop better eating habits and hit her regular workout stride. View full article »
